For the serious hand bags lovers we have the exceptionally gorgeous Felted Rose Bag by Nicky Epstein, as featured in her Knitted Flowers book.
Jennie brings us Part 2 of the Good Beginnings articles, explaining the what, where, when and how of using different cast on methods. Mae brings us Yarn 4 Kids. In this issue our "Kids Only" page shows you how to hand paint knitted goodies, in particular, cables. The inspiration for this technique came after watching the last Prada fashion parade, where the knitwear featured cables in different colours, running up the back of leggings and stockings.
We are very fortunate in this issue to have Liz write such an extensive article on knitwear grading and sizing. It is well explained and illustrated, with tables, diagrams and measurements to take the guesswork out of sizing and pattern writing. Liz will do a second part in the Spring issue, looking at the trickier aspects such as sleeve treatments, flares, collars, etc. This is essential reading for all budding knitwear designers.
Ricarda tells us all about the new seamless 3D wholegarment knitwear technology that is avialable, with a sneek peep at the design possibilities. We found this article to be absolutely fascinating. Viv gives us the low down on the recent Insubordiknit spinning workshop, while Alexi sends us a postcard and link to the worlds fastest knitter (she seems to be knitting so effortlessly) and to round it off, we have a great piece titled "The Knitters" by Rhonda. There is lots to read and do in this issue.
