Ink & Lace

Have you heard of Romanian Point Lace? No…Yes, maybe? Let me introduce you to an antique lace-making technique from Transylvania, Romania. Romanian Point Lace is the correct English translation. In Romania, people know it as Macrameu – not to be confused with Macrame. Romanian Point Lace is created with a combination of tools. If you like a little bit of crochet, sewing, weaving, embroidery, and lacemaking, Romanian Point Lace is maybe just right for you! Interested yet?

What you need! First of all, fun and an open mind to tackle all! Trust me once you start, you can’t put it away!

To create this lace, you need a cotton fabric or a calico fabric to copy your point lace pattern on it. Creating a pattern is another great unique fun for Romanian Point Lace. Once the pattern is done you create a crochet cord. The cord is your connection and life line for creating the inner point lace work. The cord gets sewn on the fabric now the lace work can start… The designs are endless… You can create all sorts of point lace, home decor, clothes, accessories, gift items, etc….
